Pause for Prayer
by, Karen Schoeppach
It will soon be Father’s Day, and so my thoughts turn to all the fathers, dads, daddies, papas, and the other names by which we may call that person. My sisters and I used “Daddy” the most and sometimes “Dad”. Who the person is who fills the role and what they are called doesn’t matter. It is who they are to us and what they do that is most important.
Dear God, Father, or Abba: We pray for the people who fill that place in our lives. Family member, friend, teacher, or mentor, we are grateful to you for placing them in our lives. We pray for those who don’t know that love and support. We pray that the fathers, the daddies — all of them — know what they mean to us. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
