Strength in Your Church Family
Pause for Prayer by Karen Schoeppach
Lately it seems there has been so much loss, so many health crises, and so many natural disasters . This puts a big strain on our ability to hope, to keep our faith strong, and to find the words to pray. Things begin to wear us down. We think, “I can’t do this anymore. I don’t have the energy or the will.” It is in these moments that our church family becomes our strength. They hold the hope and faith for us. They have the words for prayer. When we can’t take another step or carry another piece of bad news, they are there. What does someone do if they have no church family? I can’t imagine what that would be like as I have been a part of the Westminster family for about 60 years. What part does your church family play in your life?
God, those of us who are a part of a church family have support to help us when we are at our lowest. At those times when we feel so far from You, our church family keeps us connected. They surround us and guide us back to You when we feel weary and lost. Oh, how blessed we are to have them. We pray that everyone can know the peace that comes with being a part of a church family. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
